What does "Merchant of Record" mean for my business?
As the Merchant of Record, Porsa acts as the official retailer for your products. We handle all payment processing, regulatory compliance, and financial licensing requirements. You supply the products, and we handle the legal and financial complexities. This means you don't need your own financial licenses to accept payments across Africa.
How long does it take to receive my money?
Settlements are processed automatically based on your plan. Starter plan users receive settlements on a standard schedule, while Business and Professional plan users enjoy faster settlements (typically 1-3 business days). You can withdraw your earnings at any time to your local bank account or mobile money wallet.
What payment methods do you support?
We support all major payment methods across Africa: Mobile Money (MTN MoMo, Orange Money, Airtel Money, M-Pesa), bank cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex), and bank transfers. International customers can pay using their credit/debit cards. All payment methods are available through a single integration.
Do I need technical skills to use Porsa?
No coding required! Our Store Builder allows anyone to create a professional online store in minutes. Simply add your products, customize your branding, and start selling. For developers, we also offer powerful APIs for custom integrations.
How does shipping work?
We've integrated directly with international and local courier networks across Africa. When a customer places an order, a courier is automatically dispatched to pick up the item from your location and deliver it to the customer. You and your customers can track shipments in real-time. Shipping costs are calculated automatically at checkout.
Can I sell digital products?
Absolutely! Porsa is perfect for selling digital products like ebooks, music, templates, courses, and software. Once a customer completes payment, they receive an automated, secure download link via email. No manual delivery needed.
What currencies can I receive payments in?
You can receive settlements in multiple African currencies including XAF (Central African CFA franc), XOF (West African CFA franc), NGN (Nigerian Naira), KES (Kenyan Shilling), EUR and USD. We handle all currency conversions automatically, and you can choose your preferred settlement currency in your dashboard.
Is there a contract or can I cancel anytime?
No contracts required! Our Starter plan is completely free forever. For paid plans, you can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. There are no cancellation fees or hidden charges. You only pay for what you use.
