Role Description

We're looking for a Social Media Designer to own the visual identity of Porsa across all digital channels. You'll create compelling, brand-consistent content — from static posts and ad creatives to short animations and video edits — that resonates with merchants and entrepreneurs across Africa.

You'll work closely with the Marketing & Sales team to translate campaigns, product features, and brand values into visuals that drive engagement and growth. This role is primarily remote, with a specific geographic constraint (see below).

Responsibilities

  • Design visual posts, carousels, and banners for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter/X).
  • Create ad creatives for paid social campaigns (Facebook Ads, Instagram Ads, etc.) aligned with campaign objectives.
  • Develop and maintain brand-consistent templates, color palettes, and design guidelines for all digital touchpoints.
  • Produce thumbnails, channel covers, and profile assets for social platforms and video content.
  • Create simple animations (GIFs, motion graphics) to increase post engagement.
  • Perform light video editing for product tutorials, reels, and short-form content.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team on campaign concepts, content calendars, and product launches.
  • Ensure visual consistency across all published content and marketing materials.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in graphic design or visual content creation for social media.
  • Strong proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Canva, Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing social media posts, ad creatives, and brand assets.
  • Solid understanding of visual storytelling and composition principles.
  • Basic video editing skills (CapCut, Premiere Rush, or similar).
  • Ability to work remotely, manage deadlines, and collaborate across time zones.

Preferred

  • Experience designing for e-commerce, fintech, or SaaS brands in Africa.
  • Familiarity with motion design tools (After Effects, LottieFiles, or similar).
  • Understanding of paid social ad formats and creative best practices.
  • Comfort operating in an early-stage startup; proactive and autonomous.

Salary

Range: 100,000 – 150,000 FCFA per month, based on experience and location.

Location / Remote

Primarily remote role, reserved for candidates located in:

  • CEMAC: Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon.
  • UEMOA: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Togo.
